Grab a chair, guys. In making up for my behind-in-bloggingness, I’m super-sizing this post. If you like pictures, I got lots of ‘em here. ;)

This is Katie. Katie is super cool, and I have a feeling that if I were, er, um, a little younger and going to school with her, I’d want to be her friend. She’s kinda like a smart rock star. Someone you can love because they have smarts, compassion, kindness–and are just plain cool and fun to hang around. Besides being all that and beautiful to boot, she’s also a very accomplished leader as the governor of the all of the high school Key Clubs across the state. (And just in case you didn’t know what Key Club was, which I didn’t, it’s the high school arm of the Kiwanis club, a service and citizenship organization.) See? How could you not love her? ;)

It was a blast, Katie! All my best to you during your senior year–and beyond!

When I met my husband, one of the things that endeared me so much to him was his huge, extended family. You know, one of those ones where people who are not actual blood relatives are uncles and aunts and cousins… Rachel is a part of my husband’s family–not through blood directly, I don’t think (although I know there’s distant ties of people being married to someone who’s married in there somewhere!)–and although I must say it’s been either a long time since I saw her, or maybe we’ve never met–I was really excited to finally see her (again?) and catch up with her family. I know she’s humble, but she’s a star runner at Holy Name, and it was really cool to hear about her dedication to her sport with her training and her diet.

Did I also mention that she’s gorgeous? And very, very sweet to boot. But trust me, you’ll figure that out in a moment when you see some of her senior portraits.

Thanks for the awesome night, Rachel! It was great catching up with with you, and I wish you all the best during your senior year–and beyond!

In a few weeks, my daughter will be entering her final year in elementary school. The bossy-by-nature, first-born that she is, she’s been excited lately to return to school and be one of the “big” kids–but I must admit when she asks me to get all excited with her, it’s hard for me to not mark this occasion with a little bit of apprehension, as next year, she’ll be leaving the safe nest of elementary and released into the big, bad world of middle school and beyond, where who-knows-what will await her. Certainly my friends with kids older than mine make me scared of the years beyond elementary and how much sooner innocence is shattered.

Jenna is one of the young women I’ve been lucky enough to photograph this year who restores my faith that not all girls in high school are Snookie wannabes. She’s a bright, athletic, beautiful girl with a really good heart. She’s the kind of girl that I’d be proud to call my own–and during our session, I could just see how proud her mom was of her, and how confident she is that she did a great job raising her and knowing that when Jenna leaves a much bigger nest than elementary school next year, she’ll be confidently going to college with a good head and a kind heart.

Thanks to these amazing and beautiful Governor Mifflin SENIORS! I hope you guys all have an awesome summer (I still think the summer before I entered my senior year was the best one I ever had), and wish you guys all the best during your senior year–and beyond!

Talk about pressure.

Wanna know the last time these three had professional pictures taken? Caroline was a baby. And since James, the oldest, is graduating next week from Exeter and headed off to college in the fall, chances are the next time they have their picture taken together professionally will be when he gets married.

Certainly, their mom didn’t put me under any sort of pressure, but I definitely wanted to make sure she got some fabulous portraits of her kids since this will, more than likely, be her last chance to capture all three of them while they’re still living together and before they start families of their own.

Congrats on your graduation, James–and best wishes this fall! Thanks again to everyone for a fun session (which I know one of you loved more than you’ll admit, LOL)…

Whew! 27 sessions over 4 weeks. I was blessed working with such amazing families during one of the most beautiful times of the year. Granted, the scenery is gorgeous, but put once you add in some well-dressed and adorable kids? Ah, it’s a recipe for beautiful portraits!

Here’s a peek; one from each session. (And believe it or not, I’m shooting one more this week, so I’ll just have to add his in later this upcoming week. ;)

i think i’ll title this one “housekeeping” | pennsylvania photographer

Thank you SO SO SO much to all of my clients and new faces that stopped by the studio on Sunday. Each of your kids enters my heart when I’ve worked with them, and it’s always so exciting to see how much they’ve grown and changed, even if it’s been 2 years since I saw them last, or 2 months. It was exciting meeting some new kids and their parents (who I hope to photograph soon), as well, and particularly hearing about new brothers and sisters who are on their way!

The fall & holiday mini sessions will be beginning this weekend, and are completely booked for October, and possibly fully-b0oked for November. I can probably squeeze in one more client for the second week in November, and if the weather stays nice, I may extend the sessions one more week to the 22nd. If you’re interested, please let me know ASAP as I will definitely be closing my November calendar soon (though if you’re pregnant or just had a baby, I’ll always do my best to fit in a belly or a brand new baby! :)

If you’re thinking about a session for early ’10, I’m going to be debuting a new documentary style session, and will be looking for a few special families to share a half day with you and your kids. Please keep your eyes on the blog for a special offer coming up soon after the fall sessions.

If you are waiting for your proofs, I promise to be in touch soon–things, as usual, have been busy and I am running a few weeks behind with proofing, which was just complicated by my computer deciding that it didn’t want to work quickly any longer. A new computer has arrived (if I could only find wake up and find all that I need installed on it!) and I am hoping to be zipping through sessions much quicker in the next two weeks. I am very much appreciative of your patience and understanding–thank you for sitting tight. :)

And finally, because I can’t post without pictures, I worked with two seniors (one’s a senior at Daniel Boone high school here in Berks County, the other at Cedar Crest High School in Lebanon County). I was a bad blogger trying to keep my mini session and open house info at the top of the blog for a few weeks, so I was waiting to post their sessions until the open house was over. Congrats on your senior years, Sammy & Steven, and best wishes!

Well, I lie a bit–these aren’t actually senior photos as Shane, who just graduated from Exeter, is headed off to his first year of college at Marshall in West Virginia on Tuesday, so we’ve decided to call them “pre-freshman” pictures. :) I knew it was going to be a fun session when the first shot we took (after his mom and sister left) was this:

LOL–he must have thought I’d lost my mind when I asked him to do it. But he was such a great sport, even though I think that I was not able to grab a single serious shot of him–not that it matters with such an infectious smile like his.

Best wishes to you, Shane! Have a safe trip to West Virginia, and good luck with your freshman year!
