How fitting on Valentine’s Day, this sweet little baby came into my studio with the cutest, heart-shaped lips? Always one for a few macro (magnified close up) shots of baby parts, I couldn’t resist taking a few images of his lips. See the heart?

No? How about if I flip and outline it a bit?

Now that everyone thinks I’m sufficiently crazy, we’ll just get onto the regular sneak peek of baby Reed, who definitely stole a little of my heart today.

Congratulations and thanks again, Jen & Dan. I am sure your beautiful son and family have made your hearts quite full this Valentine’s Day.
I must admit, there’s nothing quite like a baby with a full head of hair to make my heart skip a few beats. My daughter had a crazy head of hair when she was first born (still does), and while I hate making a big deal out “all of that hair!” (since I am sure that his parents will hear this more than anything else all throughout his babyhood), I must admit that it seemed almost a shame to put the cute bear hat on him, hiding his gorgeous locks.
Congrats again, Melissa & John on your gorgeous son!

Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is receiving a call from a client I’ve worked with in the past and hearing, “We’re expecting again!” I have adored working with this family in the past for both a newborn and a 9-month session, so it was a wonderful treat to meet their latest addition, a beautiful (and-oh-so-mellow) baby girl named Ella. They have been so truly blessed with their beautiful girls, but I also think their girls are blessed to have parents as amazing as they are. :)

The elusive 18-month-old and newborn sibling shot. Patience pays off. :)

(Loving my two new props–an antique wicker carriage I’ve been on the search for for 2+ years…

and a cute new hat that photographs awesomely–yes, it’s a word–in my studio…)

Congrats again Sarah & Brian! All my best and much love to you guys!
Thank you to everyone who inquired about the newborn session–I am always humbled when I am asked to take a baby’s first professional pictures. But really, I am even more humbled that Patrick’s mom agreed to meet with me after I told her what I had in mind with my new prop. “I’d like to hang your baby from a hook,” is what my email essentially read, and I can only imagine that there may have been a moment’s (or several minutes, or hours, LOL) hesitation on her end.
Just for the record, I promise you that all of my pictures with babies (and children) are taken very safely. After all, Photoshop is precisely for erasing safety bags and hands, as well as cleaning up scratches from kids’ knees and wrinkles from Grandma!

And just two others of Patrick in the new studio. Isn’t he the cutest little baby? Congrats again, Michelle, and many thanks again for bringing Patrick in today.

Jenny bought a new prop! (I’m so excited, I’m referring to myself in the third person!) I’m looking for a fresh newborn to try it out on since my next newborn session isn’t for a few more weeks. Parents will receive a complimentary mini session and a complimentary 8×10 with a signed model release. The session will take place, preferably, during the week at my GoggleWorks studio. The baby must be under 2 weeks old, and smaller babies will be considered first. Please send me a photo of your baby (or your due date, if you’re expecting) to be considered.
I look forward to hearing from you!
P.S. A shout-out to Tracy Raver and Kelley Ryden, sisters in Omaha, Neb. who specialize in newborn photography. Tracy was featured on the Today Show this week, and her segment has appeared on many news outlets since. Here’s a link to some of their gorgeous newborn images shown on the Today Show: Today Show slideshow
There’s nothing more exciting than watching my clients’ families grow, and some of the babies I’ve photographed previously turn into big sisters and brothers. Evelyn was less than a year old the last time I saw her, and now she’s a proud big sister to Julia, one of the most content newborns I’ve ever photographed.
How blessed they are with two gorgeous girls! Congrats!

Jillian is the first newborn I was so, so, so lucky to photograph in my newly-expanded newborn and baby studio at the GoggleWorks. (Luckily, her parents were great sports about working with me there, too, because my contractor was running behind, and it was not entirely finished when we met. They were kind enough to ignore the piles of hardwood flooring, tape all over my walls for painting, and numerous other “pardon me moving” chaos.) Thankfully, babies are little and don’t require much space for photography sessions–it’s amazing how you can push a mess off to one corner and still make images that project calmness and serenity!
I am so excited about the beautiful natural light that fills my studio, though Jillian was definitely the most beautiful thing in there that day. Isn’t she gorgeous?

Congrats Meredith and Patrick, and welcome Jillian!
It was such a pleasure to work and hang out with this newly-transplated-to-Philadelphia family. Their kids are so adorable with their new sister, and displayed much love and gentleness, and not a single hint of jealousy. I’m wishing them many more years of the same! :)

Really, I can’t imagine having three kids under the age of three–and all of them boys to boot! I have a feeling they will all be the best of friends growing up, but in the meantime, I’m sure you may want to pass along the coffee (and probably a sprinkle of patience) to their blessed parents!
Congrats, guys! Welcome Griffin (in stripes) and Owen (in stars).
