snow session | reading and berks county family photographer

Have I told you before how much I hate winter? No? Let’s put it this way, while 90% of everyone I know is thrilled when October rolls around on the calendar, I get into a funk because I know that days with open windows and short sleeves and shorts are over. I’d make a wonderful Floridian, I just can’t stand winter that much. So, this year, I surprised myself this year by putting out a call for snow sessions, because, even though I do hate the white stuff, I do have to admit that it does make absolutely gorgeous scenery. I may actually love it more than fall leaves at the end of October.

The best part of all about the cold? It sure does make kids snuggle in closer to their parents.

Thanks for an awesome session, Heather & Greg. Love you guys! xox

How fitting on Valentine’s Day, this sweet little baby came into my studio with the cutest, heart-shaped lips? Always one for a few macro (magnified close up) shots of baby parts, I couldn’t resist taking a few images of his lips. See the heart?

No? How about if I flip and outline it a bit?

Now that everyone thinks I’m sufficiently crazy, we’ll just get onto the regular sneak peek of baby Reed, who definitely stole a little of my heart today.

Congratulations and thanks again, Jen & Dan. I am sure your beautiful son and family have made your hearts quite full this Valentine’s Day.

I must admit, there’s nothing quite like a baby with a full head of hair to make my heart skip a few beats. My daughter had a crazy head of hair when she was first born (still does), and while I hate making a big deal out “all of that hair!” (since I am sure that his parents will hear this more than anything else all throughout his babyhood), I must admit that it seemed almost a shame to put the cute bear hat on him, hiding his gorgeous locks.

Congrats again, Melissa & John on your gorgeous son!

Every February 8th, I spend a little extra time cuddling my middle child at night before he goes to bed, and I make him promise to me–swear to me–that this will be his last birthday. And every February 9th, he bounds out of bed and stands in front of me with a huge smile on his face, looking a little older and a little taller, and giggles, “sorry!”

So here’s to hoping that we’ll figure out a way to make him stop at 7, because I sure do love him just as he is. :)
