power post | reading, berks and chester county maternity, multiples and baby photographer

I’m behind in blogging, but knew I had some anxious parents (and soon-to-be parents!) waiting for their sneak peeks. (Sorry to keep you guys under such suspense! :) I’ve had such fun sessions lately–one-year-old triplets (!), an expectant couple (who weathered through several days of bad weather and a head injury–not them, one of my kiddos–before we could complete their session. I was so thankful their little one stayed put long enough for us to seek out that amazing light we found the other night); and one of Miss Madelyn, who is in the midst of her baby’s first year plan with me and just keeps on getting cuter and cuter each time I see her.

July 14, 2009 - 9:27 pm Jenny - Jen, you are right, my niece gets cuter and cuter all the time! great pics!

July 15, 2009 - 10:01 am Michele - Wow! Triplets! That must have been difficult...hopefully they weren't as tough as my twin boys. Good job!

July 16, 2009 - 2:22 pm Pat - Your photos are really great. I have an SLR and would love to know what lens you use to get the blurry backgrounds. And how do you get that twinkle in their eyes?

July 18, 2009 - 12:50 pm Jen - Hi Pat- My go-to lens for outdoor work is with the 85mm f/1.2L. The amount of blur (or, what is technically called "bokeh") is achieved based on a combination of length of lens, the lens' aperture setting, and positioning of subject in relation to you and their backgrounds. Catchlights are achieved with proper positioning to the light source (typically for me, the sun).
