…because one of my favorite little girls to photograph became a big sister a few days ago, and her baby sister takes to the camera just as amazingly as she does.
My warmest congratulations, guys! Welcome to the world, Sydney!

(J, I’ll retouch. Promise. ;)

PCS. Photographer’s Child Syndrome. My kids have it. Well, they’re sorta outgrowing it since I started pointing my lens more at clients and less at them. But I gotta admit that when this client, who is a Lancaster County photographer herself, called me and asked for family portraits, well, I was a bit worried that her kids would be afflicted with PCS as well. “Oh, they are!” she said and we giggled. Well, she giggled. I giggled along merely to be polite. ;)
Thankfully, the PCS went into remission this morning just in time for our session. And I was sure to grab lots of images of mom with her beautiful kiddos–after all, us photographers so rarely have pictures of ourselves with our own kids.
P.S. Does she look familiar? She’s also a news anchor/reporter on WGAL.

…how this week has officially made me feel OLD. Today was the third session in one week with kiddos I’ve worked with before, and all of them are growing up just so darn fast. It was September when I saw these two last, and I cannot get over just how much both of them are growing up, especially the little one.
It’s a good thing both of them love sticks so much: I hope they’re collecting them for their dad as he’s going to need them to beat away the boys, dontcha think?

Remember these guys? This is still one my all-time favorite sibling shots from all the way back on a cold and rainy day back in November of ‘07.

So fast forward to today. A completely different day outside: hot, not a single cloud in the sky, and two kids that have grown up quite a bit (like, officially making me feel old, LOL). And, they also have a new baby brother who’s celebrating his first birthday next week. Despite him being in dire need of a nap and something to eat, I must tell you just how thrilled I was to eek out yet another awesome sibling shot:

Who says lightening doesn’t strike twice?
I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since meeting Miss E and her adorable teddy bear. Remember her?

Well, she’s grown up–a lot–since then, but still has her bear.

(And I’m still claiming her as my son’s future wife :)
She also has a new brother, too. And you can bet, if I had a little girl, I’d claim him as hers. Such a sweet and happy guy, also with those amazing baby browns…

Thanks for the awesome morning yesterday, guys! I hope you had a safe trip home, and thank goodness the rain stayed away! See you at our kids’ wedding in 25 years! ;)

It’s funny… A lot of my clients know one another, and over the past two years, I’ve been told several times that I should photograph this one family who had kids with gorgeous red hair and freckles. Well, although I would love to call people up and suggest they have a session with me, that’s not quite the way it works. :)
So finally, a few weeks ago, I received a request for an appointment, but didn’t really put one and one together until I stopped by their home a few days ago to check it out prior to our session and saw pictures of them up on the wall. Red hair, freckles, knows so and so. “Ah!” I said, “You must be…”
So at long last, I photograph the family with the red hair and freckles (well, the little one doesn’t have them yet, but my guess is that in due time…)

After what seemed like an eternity of cloudy and rainy days, it was wonderful working with this sweet little guy and his parents outside on a beautiful spring day (despite our shoes and the bottom of our pants getting absolutely soaked from all the saturation in the ground).
I think even he was thrilled to spend the morning outside after countless days being cooped up indoors…

Happy Mother’s Day, Julia!

Thankfully, yesterday morning’s drizzle stopped in time for me to meet this adorable little guy with the sweetest and cutest dimples and his mom and Jake Gyllenhaal dad (LOL–not exactly, but there’s definitely a resemblance!)
