Community UCC Preschool Portraits | Reading & Berks County Children’s Photographer

Thankfully, the weather forecast looks great for Monday and Tuesday. Unless we would suddenly get an unforecasted rainshower, parents/guardians should expect that their children will be photographed these two days. Wednesday is slightly questionable, but as long as the ground is dry and there is no rain, we will be taking your children’s portraits. I will update on Tuesday evening as the forecast becomes clearer.

Thanks to all who are participating! I look forward to meeting and photographing your children.

**Tuesday evening update: Whew! It’s looking like the rain that was forecasted for Wednesday morning will be holding off until the evening. As of right now, it certainly looks like we’ll be able to get everyone photographed. Just in case it would suddenly start to rain during Wednesday’s classes and we would not be able to photograph all the students, your child’s teacher will provide you with rain date information at pickup.

Thanks again to everyone!

The early baby catches the photographer | Reading & Berks County Newborn Photographer

Several weeks ago, I got a call from this sweet newborn’s mom asking if I could possibly squeeze her in for a newborn session. I asked her due date, which was this week, and told her the only possible way I’d be able to squeeze her in was if she delivered early and I could do her session this week. Apparently, baby Ava has perfect timing as she arrived early this past weekend, much to her mom’s delight (or so it seemed from the enthusiastic phone call from the hospital. :)

She’s a beautiful baby, isn’t she? She’s gonna be quite spoiled too since she’s the first grandchild on both sides of the family. I could already see the love that her parents and grandparents have for her during our session yesterday. Congrats again, J&K!

Brendan & Cherie 9.20.08 | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Michael Smith of Ash Imagery–a talented artist and unique wedding and fashion photog in Barto–asked me to assist shooting during Brendan’s & Cherie’s wedding this past weekend.

You know it’s a fun wedding when the girls are smoking cigars and the guys are holding bouquets.

Here are a few other favorites from the day…

Of (baby) mohawks and sticks and bugs | Reading & Berks County Family Photographer

You have no choice but to love baby mohawks…

And three year old boys? They have no choice but to love sticks. Thankfully, some creative framing keeps a well-loved stick out of the picture…

And bugs love families (which were terrible yesterday). Thankfully, they kept themselves out of their mouths and eyes for just a moment to catch this wonderful moment with a beautiful family.

Throwing out the birth control… | Chester County Newborn Photographer

(Really, I’m just kidding. My husband is definitely making sure I’m kidding. :)

But sweet and beautiful Madelyn. Ah. Does she not just make you want another? I have been so lucky over the past few weeks to photograph so many new babies. Unless I get a call for a December arrival, I think she may be the last newborn I see this year. Made my day all the more special and enjoyable. (Now her poor dad, who was terribly soiled in the process of photographing the one in his hands–which I am so truly sorry about–I’m not sure his day was as special and enjoyable as mine. You were both great sports J&J–thanks. A tub of OxyClean is on its way! :)

I’m guessing… | Reading & Berks County Family Photographer

…that with three closely-spaced kids (the first two only 10 months apart!) that life in their house often feels like this:

…but is also filled with lots of love and plenty of giggles and hugs. :)

As snug as a bug… | Reading & Berks County Newborn Photographer

And as cute as a button. (Where in the world did that idiom come from anyway? Why are buttons cute?)

Baby Harrison, the son of one of my most favorite clients from last year, was perfectly content just as long as I kept him swaddled or engulfed in a sea of blankets in a basket. Apparently his sense of modesty is already perfectly developed at a mere 7 days old because he wanted nothing to do with me taking fully unclothed images. I think his parents need to never worry about him running off and joining the Chippendales. :)

At long last… | Philadelphia Family Photographer

Before there was such a thing as Jennifer Breton Photography, there was me, and a long-since-abandoned little blog that I posted family pictures to that got mention on my friend, Amy’s blog. Since then, both of us have turned from full-time moms with blogs to full-time, work-from-home moms (she now blogs for a living: both at http://quinnchannel.typepad.com and other places). The reason I mention this is because the mom below emailed me when she discovered my blog through Amy’s and asked if I had a portrait business. “No,” I told her, “But I am hoping to begin one soon.”

So here we are today. She’s had another baby. I’ve taken about 750,000 more pictures. I think we both benefited from the wait. :)

PSA: If you have a portable GPS…

Hide it when you park your car. Mine was stolen tonight in daylight a few feet from where we were eating dinner at the mall. Sadly, our hostess’ was gone, too. Wyomissing Police told us that they’re responding to GPS theft daily.

We’re feeling quite violated, yet also lucky that was all that was stolen. If my little PSA will help prevent it from happening to one of my blog readers–especially because I know a lot of us on-location photogs can’t live without our GPSes–all the better.

I *SO* belong behind camera…

LOL, right now I just want to cringe in horror at the *terrible* interview I did this morning with Channel 69 News. I look like a complete dork, I’m sure. (As my husband would kindly say now, “But Honey, you are a dork.”)

They did a little piece on my winning photo submission to Parenting magazine. Catch us tonight at 5:30.

My little ham. If only there was as much interest in my camera. ;)

The horror of discovering dry milk around his mouth… (I’m not sure they use Photoshop for live images. ;)

Us.
