Baby in a basket, part II

There’s obviously lots of things I love about my work, but one thing in particular is seeing babies grow from one session to the next. I spend so much time studying their faces as I’m proofing their sessions, so I truly do wonder how they’ll look and change and grow from one session to the next. Yesterday and today, I met with freshly-turned six month olds that I photographed as newborns in February. This baby is the subject of one of my favorite newborn shots ever as he snoozed ever so soundly in my basket:

Six months later, here’s today’s basket shot:

And of course others from our session. I have to post at least one showing his adorable chub. Oh my goodness, as soon as I saw him this morning, I was squealing in delight over how cute he was going to look showing all of his scrumptious baby rolls. My, how I do love my job.

Thanks guys! Was he not just so adorable? Heather, thanks for noticing the tones. I try to guide my clients to pick clothing that will be complimentary to the areas in which we’re shooting, and I was lucky enough to pick out his outfit that morning keeping in mind we’d have a lot of blues, tans, browns and concrete-y colors. It worked well, huh? :)

The updated basket version is fabulous! Love the composition and the moment you captured. What a cute little personality he is! The tones of the walkway outdoors is a perfect choice with his outfit, it is so subtle and he shines!
